I think Kotsay is tremendously worse than Andruw defensively. As you mentioned, Kotsay has committed less errors yet has a worse fielding percentage. Simply put, Kotsay's range is much worse. Kotsay had a couple of good years defensively, but this is the biggest drawback to Kotsay in center. Offensively, the Braves had a black hole in center last year and did very well. But can the Braves not struggle in the field?
That's my one main concern with the outfield. It should hit well enough. But if Kotsay's defense is a problem, the corner outfielders have to step up, but I don't believe there is enough range there.
But Kotsay could surprise people in a contract year. Especially with Javy around to tell him how.

I was purely going on stats with Kotsay because I've never seen him play before. Maybe now that his back isn't bothering him, that will benefit somehow.
