Yes, good point, but Mets fans seem to think it's the best thing in the world and no one can beat them now. I hope we prove them wrong.

Funny thing is, even with the Mets gaining Santana, we're still better than them if you compare teams.

That's what everyone is saying. Some think we could have put up a better offer than the Mets did, even though we wouldn't be able to keep both Santana and Teixeira long term. But our farm system is a lot better than the Mets'. I thought it was pretty stupid myself. That or the Twins didn't want to have to face Santana if they had let him go to the Red Sox or Yankees.

I think the Mets are trying to make up for their collapse of last year and maybe trying to outdo our acquistion of Teixeira, but I agree that this shall be an exciting race and even more so if we keep Teixeira.

I heard the Twins took the 4th best offer on the table. The Mets' offer was fourth to Boston's, NYY's, and the Padres (I think). Stupid move for Twins.

I bet the Mets made this move to counter the Braves acquisition of Mark Teixeira. This should get interesting if both teams resign both players.
