Sounds like Fan Fest was really crowded from the pics of Talking Chop.
Here's my thinking on the Kotsay trade:
Yes it was horrible. We gave up a top reliever, who was a bit of a head case, and Richmond, whos mediocre at best. Why'd we trade that? Well, my answer, the only one I can think of, is 1B slugger Mark Teixeira.
It sounds like the Braves wanted to have the A's eat money, so they can have a proven CF, with only having to pay around $2M. I think they are looking to have as much money as possible for next year to resign Tex.
I doubt this happens, but with Tim Hudson being paid $13M this year, I wouldn't be surprised to see him traded for about 4 good top specs. I doubt it though.
One other thing is, trying to save money is hard. A lot of people ask: Why didn't we sign Corey Patterson? He would have wanted $6M (not worth it).
The last thing I thought about this trade was: If it's costing us that much, why make it? No one said we had to trade for Mark Kotsay, a guy who had bad back problems, and only played in 52 games last year. We had Josh Anderson, Gregor Blanco, and if worse comes to worse, Brent Lillibridge (Which is not a bad option).
So the only conclusion I can come to on this trade is, the Braves wanted two things in there center field this year. Experience and cheap 1 yr replacement.
They got it.

I agree on the Mark Kotsay thing.
Also, you mentioning Teixeira signing, he supposedly has his Texas home for sale and has moved to north Atlanta. And it's also rumored he's wanting to drop Boras, but I'm not sure though. Makes you wonder though.

Then he's doing everything right. I cannot stand Scott Boras, and am glad to see A Rod and AJ Drop him. If Tex drops him, he's basically done!

Yes, he's taking the necessary steps to staying a Brave. I personally think he would rather stay with the Braves than go into free agency with the way he's talked about the organization and team while he's been here. Yeah, Boras still has a rep, but I wouldn't look for him to keep it too much longer if Teixeira walks, too.
Oh, and FanFest was very crowded. I meant to answer this in my previous comment, but posted without doing so. I have written a review post that I am going to post soon, along with pictures as soon as I get them all. The official site said between both days there was roughly 25,000 people that attended.
